Concussion Recovery: 24.5-25

So week 4 not at work. Have to schedule an appointment with my doctor to discuss when he thinks I can return to work as I cannot return without his permission.

According to my physiotherapist it will be a bit yet. Due to pain in my left shoulder; healing and recovery non-existent. Mobility has worsened instead of improving.

Post concussion symptoms getting better though day by day. Still light sensitive especially bright indoor lights and sunlight; 😎 required in these situations. Driving I do local only.

My sleep schedule last night was sleep from 8:00-10:30pm and up since, and here it is 2:30 am. I know sleep will come again soon. I will sleep a few hours again and that is it. Trying not to nap during the day as it just worsens my night sleeping.

As I am able I am organizing clothing and ‘stuff’ in the home. I am giving away what is not needed and selling some stuff on VarageSale. I write and edit in spurts along with improving my website. Screen time still limited and with ambient light feature on.

My memory, word recall off along with my concentration. I can read in small spurts as well, 30 minutes max as my eyes and head become tired. Tiredness- doing laundry and cleaning up a bit tire me out! My patience has worsened along with irritability. I find it frustrating that I lose words!

I have come across many individuals who had a concussion and they have all said what I am going through is normal. I have also been told that some of my symptoms may not go away or may take a long time to clear up.

The book by Dr. Titus Chou is awesome in describing what to expect what is termed as post concussion syndrome. The symptoms can linger for months or years. 😦 There are three categories of physical, mental and emotional symptoms and I have from all three!

  1. Headaches
  2. Insomnia
  3. Sensitivity to light and/or sound
  4. Physical fatigue
  5. Brain fog
  6. Problems with concentration
  7. Difficulty remembering new information
  8. Mental fatigue
  9. Irritability
  10. Slower reaction time
  11. More emotional

I guess 11 out of 20 is not bad! 😯

I do note improvement though; day by day except for the shoulder.

I listen to webinars related to website building, writing, editing, speaking engagements, and finances. I read in spurts. I edit and write in spurts. I go on social media and post, like, and comment. I have managed to keep busy without overdoing it. I have gotten 95% of my holiday shopping done online, so no crowds, no bright lights, no loud noises; and the best is it will all be delivered to my home👍 All win-win for me…
