Her goals are to raise awareness, educate, train, and get discussions flowing on the topics of loss, grief, death, dying, end of life, bereavement; issues related to bullying, cyber-bullying, mental health, and more with both professionals and lay-people. She would like individuals to plan for, contemplate, and discuss their wishes should one be diagnosed as critically ill or palliative with the idea that it become more mainstream.
She has an idea to see ‘Food for Thought’ Discussion Groups come to fruition. Food for Thought groups are similar to Death Cafés, EXCEPT, the facilitator can have an agenda, guest speakers, show movies, include book clubs, and offer support, resources, and referrals as needed.
A group will begin in the NDG area of Montreal in Spring 2019. Aiming for May 1st. The group will meet once a month on Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm.
